Backdoor Comedy Club has been at the heart of Dallas comedy, featuring one-of-a-kind performances from local talent and comics from across the country.
Founded by best friends and comedians Jan Norton and Linda Stogner, Backdoor began in a small pizza place about to go out of business. What started as a humble setup quickly grew into something special, with their friendship shaping the welcoming, laid-back atmosphere that still defines the club today.

Named "Best Comedy Club" by D Magazine and Dallas Observer, Backdoor is the longest-running stand-up comedy showcase in North Texas.
Every week, the club features a fun mix of local pros and nationally touring comics, many with credits such as Netflix, Tonight Show, NBC’s Last Comic Standing, BET, Comedy Central and more.
And you never know who might stop by, celebrity guests like David Spade, Brian Regan and Kathleen Madigan have been known to drop in and do an impromptu set.

The coziness of The Backdoor takes you back to the roots of stand-up and gives you the intimate atmosphere of the original comedy rooms in NYC and LA. The club presents stand-up comedy “how it was meant to be seen” at what the Dallas Observer calls “the hottest comedy showcase room in the Southwest.”
Over the years, Backdoor Comedy has called many places home — from a pizza place to a bowling alley and everything in between.
Today, the award-winning club is located in Richardson, next door to The Line Public House, a friendly neighborhood bar known for its great food, drinks, and karaoke.
Backdoor Comedy has been bringing the funny for over 35 years! And the heart and the mission of the club have remained the same, to bring audiences original, creative comedy you can’t find anywhere else.
